An open-source project for Anki users
Discover how your
ability to learn
varies day to day.
Your Anki history contains more than a record of how much you studied. Quantified Cognition turns it into daily estimates of how effectively you learned.

How effectively did
today’s learning last?
Anki can tell you how many cards you reviewed and how often you answered correctly. Quantified Cognition adds an estimate of memory formation on the day you studied, using what happened when those cards were reviewed later.
Later answers are compared with Anki’s FSRS predictions, accounting for differences between cards and the time until their next review. The result is assigned back to the earlier study day. Daily recall scores describe how you performed when answering.
Formation is shown overall and separately for follow-ups within 30 days and beyond 30 days. Scores include review counts, uncertainty and follow-up coverage. They mature as more cards are reviewed again; missing follow-ups are not treated as failures.
FOR YOUR OWN QUESTIONS
Make your learning
useful data.
Compare periods in your life, study routines or personal experiments—including whether a supplement coincides with a change in learning performance. Start with the history you already have, then return after more outcomes have accumulated.
The scores help you investigate patterns. They do not establish that a change caused an effect.
SLEEP & ACTIVITY
More than total sleep.
The Oura and Google Health integrations bring sleep stages and daily steps alongside your Anki measurements. Explore deep, REM and light sleep, the nights before and after studying, and naps separately. Phase comparisons account for total sleep duration.
Oura and Google Health connections are currently unavailable.
LEARNING ABOUT LEARNING
Your observations.
A wider scientific question.
The research programme studies how learning and recall vary over time and relate to sleep, activity and study patterns. Contributing will be voluntary: review a package of daily measurements and explicitly send it. Card content, individual reviews and account credentials are excluded.
Enrollment and uploads are currently closed. Personal use does not require participation.
